The judges for this bout are James Glass, Chris Edwards and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Scalante looks to score with a jab to the body but Romo is just out of range.
A shot to the liver by Scalante. Beautiful body shot.
Scalante misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Romo.
Scalante throws out a loose jab but Romo uses good head movement to avoid it.
Romo avoids the body shot from Scalante.
Romo ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Scalante moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Romo throws a body punch but Scalante moves out of range.
Scalante throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Scalante takes a swing at Romo's ribcage but misses.
Scalante cracks Romo with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Scalante has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Romo to stand back up!
Romo is rocked!
It looks like John Kyle Romo has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Scalante throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Romo counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Oh Romo is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Romo misses with a body punch
and Scalante counters with a big right hand! Oh Romo is in trouble here! Scalante follows up with more strikes and that's it! The ref has stopped it!
