Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Drasek Riven (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bee J Ping (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Drasek Riven!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bee J Ping!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Skip Squint and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Riven stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Ping fails with the takedown
and Riven counters with a left and a right that stings Ping.

Riven gets caught flat footed, as Ping shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Ping keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Riven's head.
Riven utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Ping throwing strikes from guard but Riven blocks nicely.

Riven is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Drasek Riven wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Ping moves away from the strike by Riven.
Riven looks to land a combination but Ping avoids it well.

Riven jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Ping is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Ping and Riven has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Drasek Riven is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Riven slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Drasek Riven.
Well Riven has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
