Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mark Ramos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chad Brewster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brewster has chosen Way of the Fist as his entrance music. Chad Brewster told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

With a record of 10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Chad Brewster!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Ren Mimura and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brewster throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Ramos stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Ramos scores with a nice strike.
Ramos throws a big shot that misses.
Ramos misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Brewster.
Ramos connects with a jab.
Ramos uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Brewster.
Brewster throws a right hand that misses
and Ramos counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Brewster scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Brewster misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Ramos.
Ramos just misses with a punch to the body.
Some wild striking there from Brewster.
A jab lands there for Ramos.

Ramos throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Mark Ramos is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Ramos bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Brewster throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Brewster misses with a low kick.
Ramos misses with a straight right.
Ramos swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Brewster just misses with a punch to the body.
Brewster uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Ramos.
Ramos misses with a wild body shot.

and Ramos counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Ramos lands the left hand.
Ramos lands a nice shot to the body.

Brewster throws a body kick that misses.

and Ramos connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
A jab from Brewster misses.
Ramos dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Brewster closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Brewster looking to score a takedown here. Ramos is defending well but Brewster drives through and ends up in Ramos's guard.
Brewster trying to control but Ramos is working from the bottom.
Ramos looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ramos is working hard here to advance position.
Brewster postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Brewster wants to pass the guard but Ramos is keeping the position.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Ramos is on top in guard.
Ramos is in close to Brewster's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Brewster looking for a triangle here. Ramos is fighting it but it looks tight! Brewster pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Ramos is tapping out - this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Chad Brewster!
After the fight, Chad Brewster was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
