Coming up we have a light heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Michael Staton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Maurício Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Michael Staton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Maurício Rua!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Shirou Masuda.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rua moves out of range of the body kick from Staton.
Staton misses with a head kick.
A decent looking cross lands there for Rua.
Staton fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Rua manages to avoid it.
Staton fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Rua is out of range.
Staton takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Rua throws a head kick that misses.
Rua punishes Staton's body with a nice straight punch.
Staton takes one on the chin but seems OK.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Staton with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Rua throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Staton on the side of the head.
It looks like Michael Staton has been cut.
Staton is looking to land body kicks.
Rua looks to land a combination but Staton avoids it well.
Rua pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Rua ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Staton moves away.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Staton lands a nice looking kick to the body. Rua takes a step back to recover.
Rua cracks Staton with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Maurício Rua seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Staton lands with a thumping leg kick.
Rua misses the jab.
Staton ducks into a a hook from Rua and goes down! He looks in a bit of a mess; will he beat the count?! 4,5,6,7,8 - he's up and looking to carry on! The referee looks into his eyes and sees that he's OK to continue!
Staton could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Rua fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Rua scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Rua cracks Staton with a perfect right hand that drops him to the mat! Staton is sitting up but I can't see if he's OK from my position. The referee's count has reached 5,6,7 and Staton is still not up. Can he make it? 8,9,10! He's out! Staton could not beat the count!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch). Maurício Rua!
After the fight, Maurício Rua was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
