Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Yashima Hanko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sam Nicholes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sam Nicholes has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Yashima Hanko! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sam Nicholes! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Stewart Dunkirk and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nicholes tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Hanko swivels and escapes. Nicholes is looking to clinch. Nicholes scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Nicholes tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Nicholes has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Nicholes tries to move to mount but Hanko blocks the move with his legs. Hanko is trying to get back to half guard. Hanko prevents Nicholes from improving position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nicholes wants to stand but Hanko is controlling his arm. Nicholes is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Hanko is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Nicholes trying to control the position but Hanko is working away.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Nicholes takes one to the chin there. Nicholes fails in his attempt to clinch. Hanko closes this distance looking for a takedown but Nicholes circles away. An inside leg kick lands from Hanko. Nicholes tries to clinch up but Hanko circles away and keeps his distance. Hanko shoots in and drives through. Nicholes sprawls well. Hanko is breathing heavily. Nicholes tries a head kick but it misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Hanko throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Nicholes fails with an attempt to clinch.
Nicholes explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work. Nicholes doesn't succeed with the takedown so Hanko counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Nicholes avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Hanko throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Nicholes controls Hanko momentarily but Hanko frees himself. Hanko not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Nicholes looking to control.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Hanko wants to pass the guard but Nicholes is keeping the position. Hanko passes Nicholes's left leg - he's now in half guard. Still in half guard, Hanko seems content to control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Nicholes missing with punches from the bottom.
Hanko tries to pass to full mount but Nicholes defends it. Nicholes trying to control from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Hanko performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Nicholes wants to get back to his feet.
Nicholes is looking for a sweep. Hanko is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Hanko moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Hanko slips a jab and a cross from Nicholes.
Nicholes closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Nicholes lands in his opponent's guard. Nicholes sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Hanko's guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Yashima Hanko will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Hanko misses with a takedown attempt and Nicholes counters with a series of strikes that sends Hanko to the canvas! Nicholes follows down into guard, looking to finish the fight!
Hanko is rocked! Nicholes wants to control from the top but Hanko keeps moving. Oh Hanko is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Nicholes slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Hanko keeping moving, preventing Nicholes from controlling successfully. Hanko seems to have got his legs back now. Nicholes gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Nicholes tries to clinch but Hanko is having none of it. Nicholes throws a sloppy head kick and Hanko moves out of range easily. Yashima Hanko is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Hanko misses with an attempted mid kick.
Nicholes feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Nicholes is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hanko not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Nicholes trying to control the position from guard on top but Hanko is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Nicholes is breathing heavily. Hanko has his foot on Nicholes's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Nicholes works his way back into a safe position though. Hanko tries to land a sweep but no joy. Nicholes trying to control but Hanko is working from the bottom. Nicholes trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Hanko swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Nicholes counters with a takedown into side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nicholes is looking to take a break and control but Hanko is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Hanko struggling a bit here. Nicholes in side control lands a decent elbow. Hanko regains half guard. Hanko slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Nicholes trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Hanko lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Nicholes!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nicholes really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Hanko trying to control but he's not successful this time. Hanko prevents Nicholes from getting the reversal. Nicholes is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Nicholes wants to control but Hanko is having none of it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Nicholes really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Nicholes avoids a series of strikes thrown by Hanko.
Nicholes is trying to escape the mount.
Hanko punching from mount but Nicholes doing a good job of avoiding damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Sam Nicholes showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!
Nicholes tries to clinch and Hanko counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Nicholes shoots in looking for a takedown. Hanko tries to sprawl out of it but Nicholes keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hanko manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Nicholes swats away the attempt to clinch by Hanko. Nicholes shoots in and bounces Hanko off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Nicholes postures up.
Nicholes trying to control the position from guard on top but Hanko is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Both fighters are breathing heavily. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Nicholes accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nicholes wants to control from the top but Hanko keeps moving. Sam Nicholes has got the better of the ground game so far. Nicholes gets to his feet - Hanko follows without any prompting. Hanko tries to clinch but Nicholes moves away and Nicholes counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Hanko! Hanko tries to control the position but Nicholes now has his back.
Nicholes has his opponent trapped and is landing shots. Not a good position for Hanko.
It looks like Yashima Hanko has been cut. Nicholes slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Nicholes's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
Hanko is covering up but some of the strikes from Nicholes are getting through and doing damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nicholes tries to keep control of the position but Hanko is staying busy. Nicholes has the hooks in. Hanko is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. Nicholes looking for the choke but no joy. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Nicholes trying to control momentarily.
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
Nicholes lands a punch to the side of the head from the back.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hanko is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Hanko looking to stop the rear naked choke attempt by controlling the hands. Nicholes is working for a rear naked choke. Hanko is not defending it well and Nicholes has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Hanko refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Hanko's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
