PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brian Schulte (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ceaser El Toro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). El Toro is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Bulls On Parade. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Brian Schulte!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Ceaser El Toro!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Reed Andrews and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schulte showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from El Toro.
El Toro misses the shot to the body.
El Toro moves out of range of the strikes.
El Toro thows a body shot but no joy.
El Toro keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Schulte.
Schulte ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Schulte shoots in for a double leg but El Toro sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Schulte misses with a straight right.
El Toro takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
El Toro throws a head kick that misses.
Schulte lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
El Toro displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Schulte.

El Toro throws a leg kick but Schulte sees it coming and checks it nicely.

El Toro pivots, looking for a leg kick but Schulte is out of range and El Toro settles back down.
Schulte throws out a loose jab but El Toro uses good head movement to avoid it.
Schulte walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

A low kick from Schulte is predictable there
letting El Toro counter with a right hand.
A looping hook to the body misses from Schulte. El Toro does a little dance to reset his feet.
Schulte throws a big shot that misses.
El Toro misses with a few strikes there.
Schulte throws a nice looking combination but El Toro bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
El Toro throws a head kick that misses.
Schulte cracks a nice hook into El Toro's ribs.
El Toro defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Schulte.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Brian Schulte. That's going to take a lot out of him.
El Toro throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

El Toro catches Schulte with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
El Toro has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
El Toro misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Schulte.

Schulte throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. El Toro tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Schulte is in El Toro's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Schulte will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Schulte throws an elbow that misses. El Toro uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Schulte's guard. Nice move by El Toro!

Schulte has control of El Toro's left arm, preventing El Toro from doing any damage.

Schulte had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. El Toro defends it easily.

Schulte has his foot on El Toro's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. El Toro works his way back into a safe position though.

El Toro wanted to stand there but Schulte had control of the position.

El Toro got a little sloppy there for a moment and Schulte has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, El Toro has managed to get both his arms back between Schulte's legs - danger averted.
El Toro throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Schulte works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Schulte bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in El Toro's guard.
Schulte throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as El Toro works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Schulte wants to pass the guard but El Toro is keeping the position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Schulte lands a couple of elbows.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Schulte keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of El Toro's head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


The crowd cheers as Schulte lands an impressive looking overhand right. El Toro doesn't seem phased though.
Schulte throws a lazy uppercut
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Schulte tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
El Toro takes one on the button.
Schulte sizes up El Toro with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
A solid leg kick lands there for El Toro.
El Toro misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Schulte counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Schulte throws a front kick aimed at El Toro's knee but El Toro avoids it well.
A shot to the liver by Schulte. Beautiful body shot.
A clash of legs there as El Toro blocks the low kick.
Schulte ducks down and throws a hook to the body but El Toro moves away.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Schulte throws a hook to the side of El Toro's head but El Toro sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
El Toro swings for the body but Schulte moves out of range.
El Toro goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.


It looks like Brian Schulte has been cut.

Schulte shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Schulte has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of El Toro's face.

Brian Schulte overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Schulte takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
El Toro holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Schulte tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
El Toro is squirming around, avoiding Schulte's attempts to control the action.
Schulte has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
