PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Cesar Ryder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Maximus Meridius (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Ryder might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Megadeth Public Enemy No.1. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Meridius leaves Ryder with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Ryder tries for a takedown but Meridius sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Meridius darts in and clinches Ryder up against the cage.
Meridius goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Ryder prevents the takedown attempt.
Meridius tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Ryder's elbow.
Meridius is looking to take this one to the mat.
Ryder can't get the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cesar Ryder. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Meridius lands an uppercut.

Ryder works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Meridius is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar!
