Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Alfredo Amarena! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Shamar Jackson! The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Russell Pearce and Lou da Vinci.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jackson takes a swing at Amarena's ribcage but misses. Jackson shoots in and bounces Amarena off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Amarena avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Jackson throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Amarena works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Amarena wants to sweep but no luck. Jackson trying to control but Amarena is working from the bottom. Amarena controlling Jackson's posture. Amarena working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Jackson. Amarena controlling Jackson's posture.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jackson passes Amarena's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Jackson not landing any meaningful shots this time. Amarena is refusing to be controlled, as Jackson sits in half guard. Jackson is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Jackson is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Amarena is pressing down on Jackson's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Jackson wants to pass the guard but Amarena is keeping the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jackson drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Amarena dives on top into guard. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Amarena slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Amarena wants to control from the top but Jackson keeps moving. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Amarena sitting in guard, not really doing much. Jackson controls Amarena momentarily but Amarena frees himself. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Amarena wants to control from the top but Jackson keeps moving. Jackson has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Jackson looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Jackson is looking to sinch up a triangle. Amarena throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Jackson's body to avoid the submission. Jackson has instead reached around Amarena's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Jackson arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
