Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Shane Chojacki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Humberto Montes!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Lou da Vinci and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Montes shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Chojacki slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Chojacki tries to get to full guard but Montes has control of the leg.

Chojacki is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Montes pulls his head out easily.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Chojacki changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Montes tries to avoid it but Chojacki manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Montes to the ground. Montes escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Chojacki feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Chojacki is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Montes knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Chojacki shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Montes pinned against the cage. Montes gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Montes lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Montes.

Chojacki closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Montes is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Chojacki has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Humberto Montes comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Montes has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
