Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rashad Evans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Demetri South (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rashad Evans! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Demetri South! The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Columbo Gatti and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! South throws a sloppy head kick and Evans moves out of range easily. South gets tackled into the cage by Evans. Evans maintains the clinch. South is trying to maintain a safe position but Evans gets an underhook and turns South into the cage. Evans lands a takedown into guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Evans passes South's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Evans seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. South wants to get back to his feet.
Evans is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
That's one minute gone in the round. Evans has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Rashad Evans wasn't doing enough on the ground. South moves in looking to clinch but Evans pushes him off. Evans lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. South closes the distance but Evans moves to the side and Evans counters by clinching up. South tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Evans avoids it. South is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Evans has had enough of the clinch but South keeps him there for the moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Evans taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. South tries to work over Evans's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Evans breaks the clinch.
South scores with a slapping inside leg kick. South gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Evans not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Evans passes South's left leg - he's now in half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Evans works his way into full mount! Evans controlling the pace for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rashad Evans dominated that round. That's time! Evans's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Evans takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Evans takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
South tries to sprawl but Evans drives through with a takedown into half guard. Evans is taking a breather. South says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. South avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Evans.
That's one minute gone in the round. South trying to control but Evans postures up.
Rashad Evans has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Evans avoids the body shot from South.
South throws a looping overhand right but Evans ducks down to avoid it. Nice body kick from South. Evans keeps the fight on the outside. South looks to clinch and Evans counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Evans gets to his feet - back to striking we go! The fight stays on the outside here - South looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. An inside leg kick lands from South. Evans on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. South tries to close the distance and clinch up but Evans swats him away and circles back towards the center. The fight moves into the clinch position. Evans ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Evans no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. South is posturing up here but Evans has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! South tries to roll out but it's too tight and South has to tap! Slick submission there by Evans!
