PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Derek Monke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel Kindbom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Monke darts in and clinches Kindbom up against the cage.
A nice left hand lands by Monke.

Kindbom successfully pulls guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kindbom is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Monke has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Kindbom can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Monke controls the pace.
Monke's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Monke throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kindbom's waist but Kindbom gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Monke off to one side.
Kindbom closes the distance and clinches up with Monke, looking for a takedown. Kindbom pushes Monke against the cage but Monke circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Horrible takedown by Kindbom or perhaps it was just good defense by Monke which made him look bad.
