Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mick Jones! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Eric Worrell! The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Dean Styles and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones throws a body kick the misses and Worrell counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Jones! Jones is looking to improve his position but Worrell isn't that keen on the idea. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Worrell looking to finish Jones with some ground and pound. This is bad for Jones! Jones slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Worrell seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. It looks like Worrell might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Jones is looking for a sweep. Worrell is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Worrell is figuring out what he wants to do next.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Eric Worrell hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Worrell has taken the fight to the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Worrell has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Jones regains guard immediately. Worrell sitting in guard, not really doing much. Worrell got a little sloppy there for a moment and Jones has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Worrell has managed to get both his arms back between Jones's legs - danger averted. Worrell stopping the sweep attempt from Jones. Worrell is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Jones escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Worrell gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Worrell engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Worrell trying to control but Jones is working from the bottom.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Eric Worrell wasn't active enough on the ground. Jones throws a sloppy head kick and Worrell moves out of range easily. Jones throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Worrell is trying hard to land a takedown here. Jones sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Jones comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Jones will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Jones throws a right and a left that Worrell avoids nicely.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Worrell wants to clinch up but Jones keeps it at a distance. Jones looks to land a combination. Worrell sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Excellent takedown into side control there by Worrell. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Worrell happy to just control the position for now. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jones is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Worrell off and has taken his back! Worrell controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad spot.
Jones patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here? Worrell tries to break free.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Worrell really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jones. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Jones working for a choke but Worrell is defending well. Worrell breaks Jones's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Jones has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Worrell can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Jones working for a triangle but Worrell defends it easily.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Worrell showing good wrestling skills to control the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Worrell shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Jones is trying to defend but Worrell finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Jones wants to get back to full guard. Worrell wants to pass the guard but Jones is defending well. Worrell throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Jones is looking to improve his position.
Jones makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Jones. Jones looking for a guillotine here but Worrell defends easily.
Jones is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Worrell doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Worrell manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Worrell looking to pass the guard. Jones has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Worrell is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Jones. Jones avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Worrell. Jones trying to remain calm as Worrell controls from the top position. Worrell tries to move into full mount but can't pass Jones's legs. Worrell staying calm.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Worrell's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Jones is looking for a sweep. Jones prevents Worrell from moving into mount. Worrell wants to control but Jones is keeping him busy. Worrell laying and praying for a moment but Jones takes advantage and regains half guard. Worrell trying to control the action but Jones is working from the bottom.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Eric Worrell. Worrell gets cracked there but stands up to it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones stuffs the takedown attempt from Worrell. Worrell gets slowly back to his feet. Jones scores with a three punch combo!
Worrell dodges the punch combination from Jones.
Jones clobbers Worrell with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. A combination from Jones does no damage. Jones swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Worrell counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Jones's guard now. Worrell slips nicely into half guard. Jones is looking for a sweep. Worrell is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Worrell performing his best blanket impression for a moment. This has been an exciting period of action! Jones looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Worrell is taking a breather. Jones says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Worrell is pressing down on Jones's thigh, looking to free his foot. Jones is holding on for now. Worrell is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Jones! Jones tries to hold on but Worrell postures up. Jones working to try and regain half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Jones is working hard here to advance position. Worrell looking to control and managing it successfully. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Eric Worrell showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!
Jones throws out a token jab with nothing on it. A punch combination from Worrell misses. Worrell shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Jones counters with a one-two to the body. Worrell avoids a punch combination nicely.
Jones throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Worrell. Worrell fails with a takedown attempt. Jones misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Jones misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Worrell. Jones moves out of range as Worrell throws a body kick.
Jones throws a right and a left that both miss. Jones fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Worrell manages to avoid it. Worrell decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Worrell passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Jones! Worrell content just to control the position here. Eric Worrell has got the better of the ground game so far. Worrell has control of Jones's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Jones regains control of the situation pretty easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jones really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Worrell takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Jones keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Worrell controlling from the full mount.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Jones is wriggling around trying to escape.
Worrell controlling his opponent. Jones manages to regain half guard. Good work. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Worrell in particular looking to stall.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Eric Worrell was stalling too much, according to the referee. Jones tries to bum rush Worrell with a series of wild strikes but Worrell uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
And that's the end of the fight! Eric Worrell comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Worrell winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
