Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Helppo Heikki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mario Matiss (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Matiss's choice of entrance music: Ennio Morricone - The Ecstasy of Gold. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Mario Matiss was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The judges for this bout are Josh West, Micheangelo Fripello and Ryoma Takatsuka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Heikki takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
It looks like Helppo Heikki has been cut.
Matiss lands a big head kick that sends Heikki tumbling to the mat! Matiss takes a step backwards and waves Heikki back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Heikki is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Matiss displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Heikki throws out the jab.
Matiss misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Heikki just misses with a punch to the body.
Matiss throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.

Heikki lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Heikki is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Matiss.

Matiss working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Heikki doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Heikki manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Heikki fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Matiss looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Heikki scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Heikki sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Matiss misses with an attempted mid kick.

Matiss takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Matiss is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Heikki jabbing away but nothing is landing.

A head kick from Matiss lands but Heikki takes it in his stride.
Matiss fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Heikki.
Matiss throws a low kick but Heikki moves out of range easily.
Mario Matiss is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Helppo Heikki's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.

Heikki catches Matiss with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Matiss enables Heikki to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Matiss manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Heikki is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Matiss is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Matiss has his foot on Heikki's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Heikki works his way back into a safe position though.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Helppo Heikki.
