Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Anhel Batista! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chad Brown! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Chris Downing and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Batista shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Brown is trying to defend but Batista finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Brown controlling the leg, holding on to half guard. Brown tries to get to full guard but Batista has control of the leg. Batista seems to be trying to get a kimura but instead Brown has recovered full guard. Brown lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Batista!
That's one minute gone in the round. Brown thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

Batista is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Brown avoids the attempt from Batista to control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Brown sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Brown is landing with some decent strikes but Batista is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Batista is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Brown scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Batista on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Batista tries to get out of the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Batista is bucking up trying to escape but Brown cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
It looks like Anhel Batista has been cut. Brown looking to ground and pound but Batista is blocking nicely. Batista wants to control but Brown is having none of it. Brown in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Batista is rocked!
Anhel Batista's cut is getting worse. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Brown raining down shots from the mount! Brown unloading with bombs! Oh Batista is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

That's four minutes gone in the round. Brown is landing with some decent strikes but Batista is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Batista seems to have got his legs back now. Batista wants to control but Brown is having none of it. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Brown cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Jeez, Anhel Batista's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Anhel Batista's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Chad Brown! A relieved looking Chad Brown thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
