8 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Fou Rthihovsky! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Barney Rubble! The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Skip Squint and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rthihovsky swings for the body but Rubble moves out of range.
Rubble swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Rubble throws out a leg kick but Rthihovsky moves out of range and Rubble only half commits. Rthihovsky lands a lovely overhand right. Rubble pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Rthihovsky lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
A telegraphed right hand from Rthihovsky misses the target. Rthihovsky lands with a shot to the body. Rthihovsky blocks a head kick by Rubble.
Rthihovsky throws a wild body kick that Rubble sees coming a mile off. Rthihovsky ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Rubble moves away. Rthihovsky throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Rubble darts in and clinches Rthihovsky up against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rubble throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Rthihovsky blocks it with crossed arms. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Rthihovsky. A head punch on the inside from Rthihovsky fails to land. Rthihovsky throws a punch but it's blocked by Rubble. Rthihovsky keeps control of Rubble as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Rubble's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Rthihovsky throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Barney Rubble is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Rubble tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Rthihovsky manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Good work by Rthihovsky as he checks the leg kick. Rthihovsky buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Rthihovsky has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Rthihovsky and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Rubble uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Rthihovsky. Rubble is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Rthihovsky. Rubble swings and misses with a hook to the body.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! A swing and a miss from Rthihovsky. Rubble misses with a body kick. Rubble ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Rthihovsky moves away. Rthihovsky throws a hook to the side of Rubble's head but Rubble sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Rubble keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Rthihovsky. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Rthihovsky shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Rubble fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Rthihovsky manages to avoid it. The fighters circle momentarily. Rthihovsky darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Fou Rthihovsky will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Rthihovsky throws a sloppy head kick and Rubble moves out of range easily. Rthihovsky fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Rubble avoids it really well and circles away. Rthihovsky throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Rubble on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.

Rubble throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. Rthihovsky pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Rubble back to the cage. Rthihovsky follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Fou Rthihovsky is winning the standup battle so far. Rthihovsky drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Rthihovsky accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Rthihovsky keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Rubble's head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rubble controlling Rthihovsky's posture. Rubble looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Rthihovsky throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rubble trying to control the position.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Barney Rubble hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Rthihovsky circles away from the clinch attempt.

Barney Rubble really dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Rthihovsky wants to take a breather but Rubble is having none of it. Rthihovsky looks to land a strike but Rubble avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Rthihovsky on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Rubble. Rubble obviously looking to wear him down.

That was a close fourth round but I would say that Fou Rthihovsky will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Barney Rubble has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Rubble using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Rthihovsky has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Fou Rthihovsky. I think Rthihovsky has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

In favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Fou Rthihovsky! Fou Rthihovsky retains his bantamweight title! In his post fight interview, Fou Rthihovsky started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
