The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice sprawl there from Fisher as Hardy shoots in. Hardy cracks Fisher with a good jab. Hardy shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Fisher but Fisher pushes him off and we're back to square one. Hardy has taken the fight to the clinch.
Fisher is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Hardy is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Fisher can't fight it off and eventually Hardy manages to take the fight to the floor. Fisher looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Fisher has control of Hardy's left arm, preventing Hardy from doing any damage. Fisher has his foot on Hardy's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hardy works his way back into a safe position though. Fisher is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hardy slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Fisher is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Hardy rolls with it to try and escape but Fisher cranks on the arm and Hardy is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:04 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). TJ Fisher!
