Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Larry Miller! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Robert Paulson! The judges for this bout are William Gold, Andrew Berry and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A jab from Paulson misses. Paulson ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Paulson jabs at Miller's body. Miller missing with a left hand there. Paulson was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Miller showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Paulson.
Paulson lands with a cross. A combination from Miller does no damage. Miller misses with an uppercut. Miller steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Paulson. Paulson connects with a good right hand that stumbles Miller. Miller circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Paulson fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Miller manages to avoid it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Paulson throws a hook but Miller avoids it easily. Paulson swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Miller swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Paulson throws a nice looking combination but Miller bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Miller displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Paulson throws out the jab. Paulson misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Paulson connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. A big right from Paulson misses. Miller throws a lazy uppercut
and Paulson counters with a straight right hand. A slow jab from Miller misses its intended target. Miller takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Miller throws a right and a left that Paulson avoids nicely. Miller is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Paulson. Miller swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Paulson. Miller throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Paulson counters with a nice body shot. Paulson connects with a combination that backs up Miller into the cage. Paulson lands a flurry of punches that gets past Miller's guard. Miller is down and the referee has seen enough. It is all over! Paulson bursts into tears - this win obviously means a huge amount to him.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Robert Paulson!
