Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Nick Skerlik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wojciech Fons (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fons is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Ajron Men. Wojciech Fons will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Nick Skerlik! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Wojciech Fons! The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Anni Minnemäki and Arvi Lind.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Skerlik tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Fons fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Skerlik fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Fons throws a front kick that sends Skerlik stumbling back into the cage. Nice body punch from Fons. Skerlik shoots in but no luck this time. Fons tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Skerlik was well out of range. Poor timing from Fons. Fons scores with a jab. Skerlik acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Fons throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. Fons looks to score with a jab to the body but Skerlik is just out of range. Skerlik shoots in and drives through. Fons sprawls well. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nick Skerlik. That's going to take a lot out of him. Fons throws a series of strikes that have Skerlik backpedaling.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Fons just misses with a punch to the body.
Fons darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Fons trying to control from half guard but Skerlik is working away. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Fons is looking to stall here but Skerlik recovers full guard. Fons trying to control the position from guard on top but Skerlik is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Fons stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Skerlik swivels though and keeps the full guard. Skerlik keeping moving, preventing Fons from controlling successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fons tries to free his leg and advance position but Skerlik is retaining full guard. Fons stops Skerlik from standing up. Skerlik wriggles free and stands up. Skerlik will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Fons lands a head kick!
Fons misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Skerlik.
Fons thumps Skerlik with a low kick. Skerlik takes a kick to the body and keeps moving. Fons throws a series of punches but Skerlik moves out of range.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Fons throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Skerlik's head. Fons scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Fons throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Skerlik shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Skerlik was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Fons bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Skerlik wants to stand and escape but Fons is having none of it. Fons trying to control but Skerlik is working from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fons stands and steps away. Skerlik gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. An inside leg kick lands from Fons. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Skerlik shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Fons is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Fons keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Fons is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Fons is desperately trying to improve his position but Skerlik has a good base and remains in mount. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Fons looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back! Skerlik working for the choke. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Wojciech Fons dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Horrible takedown by Skerlik or perhaps it was just good defense by Fons which made him look bad. Fons dives in and scores a takedown into Skerlik's guard. Fons with a nice head shot there. Skerlik is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Fons trying to control but Skerlik is working from the bottom. Fons throws a big right hand that misses. Fons looking to sit in guard and control but Skerlik gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
That's one minute gone in the round. Skerlik is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Skerlik trying to control the position from guard on top but Fons is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Skerlik is really struggling to control Fons but he's trying to hold on to the position. Fons is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Skerlik is aware though and is defending well. Skerlik stops Fons from standing up. Skerlik pushes down on Fons's leg and manages to get into half guard. Fons is looking to control Skerlik's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Fons avoid being mounted?
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fons is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Skerlik is staying active. Skerlik is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Skerlik is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Fons doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Skerlik. Skerlik uses his free foot to push down on Fons's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Fons. Fons tries to hold on but Skerlik postures up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Skerlik looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Fons can't escape the position.
Skerlik forces the positional change into back control. Fons fending off the submission attempt from Skerlik. Fons is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Skerlik is working for a rear naked choke. Fons is not defending it well and Skerlik has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Fons refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Fons's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Nick Skerlik!
