The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Leandro Rodrigues and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Craine lands with a cross.
Jab, jab by Craine - just one landing.

Vellonaz feints and as Craine raises his hands in defense, Vellonaz changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Vellonaz with a flurry of punches that miss.
Vellonaz slips nicely into half guard.
Craine is looking for a sweep. Vellonaz is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Vellonaz working over Craine with some ground and pound. Craine looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.


It looks like Shawn Craine has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Vellonaz trying to pass the guard but Craine defending well.

Vellonaz is working for a kimura but Craine is defending it quite comfortably.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Craine can do anything to dispel that myth.

Vellonaz is looking for a kimura here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Vellonaz wants to get back to his feet.
Vellonaz throwing shots but Craine is blocking nicely.
Vellonaz tries to pass the half guard into mount. Craine knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Vellonaz is working hard here to advance position.
Vellonaz missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

Vellonaz has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Craine defend it? Vellonaz steps over the head and cranks it - Craine is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Vellonaz!
