Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kullervo Pershiki! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jake Colby! The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Anni Minnemäki and Johanna Lukiainen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Colby misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Colby uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Pershiki.
Colby gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Pershiki cracks a nice hook into Colby's ribs. Colby avoids the body shot from Pershiki.
Colby has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Colby there as he acknowledges the shot. Pershiki lands a jab to the head.
Colby tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Pershiki swivels and escapes. Pershiki fails to land with a series of punches.
Colby with a poor takedown letting Pershiki counter with a right hand. Kullervo Pershiki has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jake Colby. Pershiki lands a nice looking body shot.
Pershiki throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Colby stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Colby looks gassed!
That's one minute gone in the round. Colby has his takedown stuffed and Pershiki counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Pershiki scores with a hook to the body. Colby takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Some wild striking there from Pershiki.
Pershiki fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Colby. Colby is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Pershiki.
It looks like Jake Colby has been cut. Pershiki works over Colby's head and body with a nice combination. Pershiki misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Pershiki scores with a jab. Colby acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! A combination from Pershiki does no damage. Pershiki cracks Colby with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Colby is rocked! Pershiki connects with a body shot. Colby is still on wobbly legs! Can Pershiki finish him? Pershiki sizes up Colby with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Pershiki is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Nice body punch from Pershiki. A chopping leg kick lands by Pershiki. Colby loses concentration momentarily and Pershiki pounces with a three punch combo! Right, left, right! Colby crashes face first to the mat, out cold! Pershiki finishes this one with a fantastically precise combo! Great stuff.
