PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fedor Pain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andrei Silas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silas closes the distance and clinches up with Pain, looking for a takedown. Silas pushes Pain against the cage but Pain circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Silas decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Pain throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Pain striking from half guard on the bottom.
Silas is keen to just control but Pain is a slippery customer.
Pain looks like he's trying to stand up.
Silas is looking to take a break and control but Pain is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Silas is thwarting Pain's attempts to control the position.
Pain is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Silas is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Silas prevents Pain from standing back up.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

It looks like Andrei Silas has been cut.
Silas takes an elbow to the temple.
Pain lands a knee to the body.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Pain gets in close and instigates a clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
