Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Chael Sonnen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Wallace (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wallace is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by 50 Cent - Laughing Straight To The Bank. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Chael Sonnen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, James Wallace! The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Steve Erwin and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wallace misses with a straight left. Left hook, right uppercut from Wallace. Wallace keeps the fight on the outside. Sonnen closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Sonnen lands in his opponent's guard. Sonnen not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Wallace really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sonnen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Sonnen decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Wallace, up you get! Sonnen gets a takedown into half guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Sonnen is working for a submission of some sort.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sonnen is working for a kimura but Wallace is defending it quite comfortably.
Sonnen wants to work for an arm triangle but Wallace is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Sonnen wants to free his trapped foot but Wallace is holding on for dear life with his legs.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Wallace tries to roll over but Sonnen keeps him under control. Sonnen with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Sonnen is trying to control. Wallace wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
That's three minutes gone in the round. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Sonnen seems to be working for a kimura but Wallace defends the submission attempt. Sonnen is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Sonnen throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Sonnen is looking for a kimura but Wallace is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Sonnen to get the leverage. Sonnen tries to pass to full mount but Wallace defends it.

Sonnen tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Sonnen shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Wallace rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Sonnen moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Wallace throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Sonnen gets a takedown into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sonnen passes to side control. Sonnen has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wallace misses with a straight right. Sonnen scores a takedown into full mount! Sonnen dominating with strikes here. Chael Sonnen overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Wallace is breathing heavily. Wallace is wriggling around trying to escape.
Sonnen has hold of Wallace's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Wallace manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Sonnen tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sonnen is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet! Wallace misses with a looping left. Sonnen takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Sonnen takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Sonnen closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Wallace quickly recovers to half guard. Sonnen works his way into side control. Sonnen happy to just control the position for now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sonnen stands up. Wallace pushing out the jab but it's not landing. A big right from Wallace misses.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wallace throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Sonnen. Excellent takedown into side control there by Sonnen. Sonnen stands up. Wallace will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Sonnen fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Wallace sprawls well initially but Sonnen persists and gets the takedown into half guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Sonnen performing his best blanket impression for a moment. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chael Sonnen dominated that second round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Wallace moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Jab from Wallace. A big right from Wallace misses. Wallace lands with a nice body punch. Good standup being displayed there by Wallace as he connects with a hook. Sonnen changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Wallace tries to avoid it but Sonnen manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Wallace to the ground. Wallace escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Sonnen dives in and grabs Wallace's left leg, looking for a takedown. Wallace pushes down on Sonnen's head and hops out. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Sonnen shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Wallace as he jumps to the side. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chael Sonnen. That's going to take a lot out of him. Wallace scores with a three punch combo!
That's one minute gone in the round. Wallace throws a body kick that digs right into the meat. Wallace fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Wallace lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Sonnen backs up against the cage.
The fight stays on the outside here - Sonnen looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Wallace might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Sonnen walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Chael Sonnen is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Sonnen drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Sonnen trying to control the position from guard on top but Wallace is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Sonnen stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wallace swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Chael Sonnen just wasn't active enough. Sonnen takes a shot right to the bread basket. Wallace tries to sprawl but Sonnen drives through with a takedown into half guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Sonnen moves nicely into side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sonnen goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Wallace rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Sonnen's guard! Nice work there by Wallace! Sonnen has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Wallace can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Wallace looking to pass the guard. Sonnen is pulling down on Wallace's head to control his posture. Sonnen is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Wallace is aware though and is defending well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sonnen keeping moving, preventing Wallace from controlling successfully. Sonnen is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Wallace tries to free his leg and advance position but Sonnen is retaining full guard. Sonnen is pulling down on Wallace's head. It's preventing any offense from Wallace, at least for the moment. Sonnen keeping moving, preventing Wallace from controlling successfully. Sonnen trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Sonnen throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

James Wallace has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Wallace must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Wallace avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Chael Sonnen. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Sonnen, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
