Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dj Crabby Jef! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
25 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Jimmy Blair! The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Steve Erwin and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Crabby Jef jabs Blair right on the nose. Blair blinks but takes it well. A jab from Crabby Jef does it's job there. Crabby Jef just misses with a punch to the body.
Crabby Jef loads up on a big right hand but Blair slips the punch. Blair misses with a right hand and Crabby Jef counters with a lovely shot to the body. A lazy left from Crabby Jef finds it's target. Blair misses with a straight left. Blair uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Crabby Jef.
A big right from Blair misses. Blair throws a hook but Crabby Jef blocks it. Blair swinging wildly here.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Crabby Jef!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Crabby Jef shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Blair as he jumps to the side. Crabby Jef moves out of range of the strikes. Blair on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Blair lands a lovely overhand right.
That's one minute gone in the round. Blair looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Good standup being displayed there by Blair as he connects with a hook. Crabby Jef looking to score a takedown here. Blair is defending well but Crabby Jef drives through and ends up in Blair's guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Crabby Jef accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Crabby Jef throwing strikes but missing. Blair seems keen to control Crabby Jef's posture. Crabby Jef postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Crabby Jef working some strikes from top position. Crabby Jef wants to control from the top but Blair keeps moving.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Blair throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Crabby Jef might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Blair preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Crabby Jef throwing strikes from guard but Blair blocks nicely. Crabby Jef drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Blair manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Crabby Jef has Blair in his guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Blair trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Crabby Jef tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Crabby Jef has a closed guard, preventing Blair from standing up. Blair must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Blair is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Crabby Jef has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Blair is looking to defend but Crabby Jef has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Blair! Crabby Jef pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Blair taps out and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Dj Crabby Jef! An out of breath Dj Crabby Jef thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
