Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
18 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hyun Kim! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Woohun Do! The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Yuuki Gou and Shirou Masuda.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kim swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Do wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. A bone on bone clash there as Do blocks the leg kick.
Kim swings and misses with a shot to the body letting Do counter with a right hand. Kim pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Kim throws a leg kick and Do counters with a stiff right hand. Do gets caught flat footed, as Kim shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Do looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Do seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Do working a defensive guard here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kim preventing the sweep. Kim wants to get up but he can't break Do's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Kim trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful. Do pulls Kim in to control the position.

Do scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Kim throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Do swats away the attempt to clinch by Kim. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Kim throws a leg kick but Do moved away. Kim misses with a wild body shot. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kim thows a leg kick but Do checks it and Kim takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Do feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Do loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Do throws a big right hand that misses. Kim trying to control the position.

Do working the head and body with strikes. Do is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. This has been an exciting period of action! Kim keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Kim is looking for a sweep. Do is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Do with the ground and pound but Kim uses the opportunity to regain guard. Do working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Kim's head. Do lands a couple of elbows. Do trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Do working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Do loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
That's nine minutes gone in the round. Do working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Kim's head. Kim is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Do postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Kim working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Do. Do passes into half guard. Woohun Do has got the better of the ground game so far. Kim actively working from the bottom here. Do slips a nice elbow through Kim's hands, connecting with Kim's forehead. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Do frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Do scores with a couple of good head shots there.

Woohun Do showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
