Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Roger Hollett! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Da Coach! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Wesley Smith and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Coach misses with a straight right. Hollett throws a body punch but Coach moves out of range. Hollett throws a nice looking combination but Coach bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Nice straight punches there by Coach. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Coach.
It looks like Roger Hollett has been cut. Hollett throws a body punch but Coach moves out of range. Coach fails with the takedown. Coach gets in close and instigates a clinch. Hollett lands a hook to the side of the head. Hollett tries to work over Coach's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Coach wants to stall.
Hollett presses Coach against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. Coach trying to stall but Hollett improves his position.
Hollett misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Hollett is trying to push Coach away but Coach has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Hollett is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Hollett breaks from the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Coach shoots in and drives through. Hollett sprawls well. Hollett throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. The fighters circle momentarily. Hollett darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Coach displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Hollett throws out the jab. Coach walks into a stiff left hand from Hollett. Hollett throws a right and a left that Coach avoids nicely. Hollett misses with a looping right. Coach shoots for a double leg takedown but Hollett sprawls well. He's pushed Coach's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Roger Hollett has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Da Coach. Coach takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Hollett misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Coach.
Hollett misses with a hook. Coach ducked under it nicely. A looping hook to the body misses from Hollett. Coach does a little dance to reset his feet. Hollett stuffs the takedown attempt from Coach. Coach gets slowly back to his feet. Coach dives in and grabs Hollett's left leg, looking for a takedown. Hollett pushes down on Coach's head and hops out. Hollett throws a looping overhand right but Coach ducks down to avoid it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hollett sends Coach crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Hollett is motioning to the referee to let Coach up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Coach is rocked!
It looks like Da Coach has been cut. Da Coach seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hollett cracks a nice hook into Coach's ribs. Coach is still on wobbly legs! Can Hollett finish him? Coach looks gassed! Hollett dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Hollett lands an uppercut, right on the button! Coach tumbles backwards into the cage, staring vacantly into space! He's got no idea where he is, who he is or what day it is... Poor guy.
