The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Lomax!
It looks like Omen Deng has been cut.
Lomax wants to land a leg kick but Deng is out of range.
Deng slips a straight right by Lomax.
Lomax throws an ugly left hook that misses
enabling Deng to counter with a crisp jab.
Lomax misses with a straight left.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Lomax has eaten all the pies!
Lomax blocks a jab.
Deng avoids a punch combination nicely.
Lomax lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Deng throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Lomax misses with a hook to the body
and Deng connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Lomax stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Lomax wants it to stay on the feet.
Deng misses with an uppercut. Lomax saw that one coming.
Deng throws an ugly left hook that misses
letting Lomax counter with a right hand.

Lomax takes a swing at Deng's ribcage but misses.
Deng misses with a body shot.
Lomax displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Deng throws out the jab.
The fighters circle momentarily. Lomax darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Omen Deng's cut is getting worse.
Deng looks to land a left hand but Lomax moved out of range nicely.
Lomax throws a nice looking combination but Deng bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Benedikt Lomax is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Deng closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Lomax quickly recovers to half guard.
Deng passes the guard and advances to mount!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Deng sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Poor strikes thrown by Deng there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Lomax tries to hold on but Deng postures up.
Deng thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Deng is landing with some decent strikes but Lomax is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Deng misses with a head shot.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Lomax can do anything to dispel that myth.

Lomax is bucking up trying to escape but Deng cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Deng lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Lomax avoids a series of strikes thrown by Deng.
Lomax really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Deng. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Deng cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Benedikt Lomax's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Benedikt Lomax's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
