Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between John Connor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alejandro Mora (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Connor might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Ça vaut mieux que d'attraper la scarlatine by Ray Venture. Mora has chosen Seven Nation Army as his entrance music. John Connor has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
19 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, John Connor! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alejandro Mora! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Ian Loll and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Connor throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Connor uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Mora.
Connor takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Mora lands a jab to Connor's midsection. Alejandro Mora seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Mora scores with a body shot.
Connor lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Mora uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Connor. Nice defenses there by Mora. Connor stuns Mora with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Connor pushes Mora up against the cage in a clinch. Mora tries to circle away but Connor has him pinned against the cage. A short right hand to the side of the head by Connor. A short right from Connor on the inside. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Mora pulls guard. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Mora is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Connor is looking to control Mora's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Connor avoid being mounted?
That's one minute gone in the round. Mora lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Connor trying to hold on to Mora's head to control him but Mora postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mora wants to advance to full mount but Connor doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead. Connor is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Mora throws an elbow that misses. Connor uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Mora's guard. Nice move by Connor! Connor drops back looking for a leg! Mora is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Mora manages to kick Connor off! Connor jumps back into Mora's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Connor is stalling in the full guard. Mora trying to keep a closed guard but Connor is proving a slippery customer.
Connor is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mora working a defensive guard here.
Mora is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Connor cracks Mora with a solid left hand.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mora keeping moving, preventing Connor from controlling successfully. Connor stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mora swivels though and keeps the full guard. Mora throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Connor wants to control from the top but Mora keeps moving. Mora is pulling down on Connor's head. It's preventing any offense from Connor, at least for the moment. Connor won't allow Mora to sweep him here. Connor looking to sit in guard and control but Mora gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Connor manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Mora manages to get himself to full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mora is looking to sweep but instead, Connor has passed into half guard.
Mora looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Mora wants to control but Connor is keeping busy and won't allow it. Mora wants to improve his position but Connor is controlling well.
Connor is taking a breather. Mora says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Connor throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Mora is staying active underneath Connor, who seems content to just control the action from this position. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Mora is pressing down on Connor's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that John Connor will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Mora shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Mora walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Connor gets caught flat footed, as Mora shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Mora trying to control but Connor is working from the bottom. Mora stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Connor swivels though and keeps the full guard. Connor is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Mora trying to control the position from guard on top but Connor is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Mora throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Connor works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Mora landing with the ground and pound. Mora postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mora postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Connor wants to sweep here but Mora controlling him for the moment. Mora postures up in Connor's guard and throws a big left but Connor blocks it. Mora has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! You can see the frustration on Connor's face as Mora controls the position. Connor managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Mora.
Mora lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Connor down.

Alejandro Mora showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Mora is looking to land body kicks. Connor lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Mora circles away quickly and effectively. Connor throws a series of punches but Mora avoids them all with ease. Connor swats away the attempt to clinch by Mora. Mora closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Mora throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Mora landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Mora thows a huge punch but Connor dodges it nicely.
Mora is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Mora lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Mora working the head and body with strikes. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Mora winds up and cracks Connor with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Mora sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Connor defending well though. Connor might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Connor is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Mora scores with a couple of nice shots.
