Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jin Woo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kick Ass (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Woo comes to the cage accompanied by Prodigy - Poison. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kick Ass!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Ren Mimura and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ass moves into range and clinches up with Woo.

Woo is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Ass shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Woo pinned against the cage. Woo gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Kick Ass seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Ass does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Ass shoots in looking for a takedown. Woo tries to sprawl out of it but Ass keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Woo manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

and Ass counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Ass.
Woo is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Ass to keep the fight standing.

Woo escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Horrible takedown by Ass or perhaps it was just good defense by Woo which made him look bad.

Ass has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Woo uses from the top position.

Woo looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Ass is fending him off so far but Woo persists. Nope, Ass circles away and we're back to standing.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Ass throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Ass darts in and clinches Woo up against the cage.
Ass is pressed up against the cage. Woo has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Ass down to the mat. Ass avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Kick Ass will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Ass misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Woo tries to clinch there but Ass circles away.
Ass is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

Ass fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Woo, pushing him back against the cage.

Ass swats away the attempt to clinch by Woo.

and Ass counters with a lovely shot to the body.

Jin Woo is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

A frustrated look appears on Woo's face as he tries to break the clinch.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Ass shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Woo defends it nicely.

Woo lands an elbow that stopped Ass in his tracks for a moment.
Ass tries to pull guard but Woo won't allow it.
Woo creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.

Woo escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Ass tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Ass drops down looking for an ankle pick but Woo pulls his leg out and moves away.
Woo tries to score a power double leg takedown but Ass sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Woo somewhat.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Ass pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Woo back to the cage. Ass follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

Ass drives through and clinches with Woo against the cage.
Ass blocks an elbow strike from Woo.
Woo pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.

Woo jumps guard and drags Ass to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Woo is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Ass is pushing down on Woo's leg trying to pass to half guard. Woo is fighting to maintain full guard but Ass has managed to sneak the leg through.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Ass passes the guard and advances to mount!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Woo can't escape the position.

Ass throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
Woo has given up his back here.
Woo tries to roll but Ass sticks to his back.
Ass struggling to land strikes to the head as Woo covers up.
Even with his hooks in, Ass manages to miss with strikes from the back.
Good control from Ass.
Woo controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position.

Kick Ass comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Ass has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
