The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Silva is defended easily by Machida.
Machida throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Machida gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Silva lands a body shot.
Silva throws a head kick that lands with a deafening thwack! The crowd roars as Machida stumbles backwards and falls to the mat. Silva follows into mount!
Machida is rocked!
It looks like Lyoto Machida has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Silva lands a heavy shot. That's hurt Machida! Silva sees the opportunity and turns up the heat - strike after strike land to the defenseless Machida and the ref dives in to save him! This one is all over!

A relieved looking Glaube Silva thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
