Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Freddie Emilianenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Austin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Emilianenko comes into the arena with SOAD - Chop Suey blaring out of the sound system. Austin comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Motorhead-Killed by death kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Freddie Emilianenko has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Emilianenko fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Austin manages to avoid it.
A big right from Austin misses.
Emilianenko moves out of range as Austin strikes.
Austin misses with a double jab
and Emilianenko makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Austin connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Emilianenko's hands.
Austin connects with a single shot there.
Steve Austin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Austin misses with a wild body shot.
Emilianenko misses with a looping right.

Austin moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Austin throws a nice looking combination but Emilianenko bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Austin takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Austin leaves Emilianenko with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Emilianenko throws a jab but it's blocked by Austin.
Steve Austin is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Emilianenko looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Horrible takedown by Emilianenko or perhaps it was just good defense by Austin which made him look bad.
Emilianenko avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Austin rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Emilianenko moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Emilianenko has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Emilianenko tries to score a power double leg takedown but Austin sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Emilianenko somewhat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Freddie Emilianenko. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Emilianenko moves out of range as Austin strikes.

Austin throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Austin throws a body punch but Emilianenko moves out of range.
Austin uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Emilianenko.
Austin misses with a series of wild punches.
Austin lands a really nice looking cross but Emilianenko seems unphased.
Austin throws a lazy uppercut
and Emilianenko counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Austin takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.


Austin is rocked!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Austin is holding his hands too far apart here. Emilianenko throws a hard, straight punch right down the pipe and BOOM! Austin is out! That punch landed square on the jaw - what a shot!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:10 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Freddie Emilianenko!
