Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Leandro Correia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dick Son (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Dick Son!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Steven Brown and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Correia throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Son.
Correia stuffs the takedown.

Correia has closed the distance and engaged Son in a clinch.
Correia is trying to push Son away but Son has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Correia stalling.

Correia has clasped his hands together around Son's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Correia is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Son's shoulder. That is not cool.

Leandro Correia has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Correia perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Leandro Correia seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Son tries for a takedown but Correia sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Son.
Leandro Correia has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dick Son.

Son takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Correia goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Correia decides to stand back up. Correia steps back and let's Son get back to his feet.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Son has momentary wrist control but Correia slips an elbow through the middle.

Correia has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Son uses from the top position.
