The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Valeri Chadov and Fedor Mirinova.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Crusher misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Crusher misses with a head kick.
Sarnavskiy doesn't manage to clinch there - Crusher circles away.

Crusher gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Crusher tries to break free but Sarnavskiy pushes him back against the cage.
Crusher can't break the clinch.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Sarnavskiy as Crusher tries to tie him up.

Sarnavskiy manages to break the clinch.
Crusher moves forwards but Sarnavskiy connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Sarnavskiy misses with the combination.
Crusher moves to clinch but Sarnavskiy breaks away
and Sarnavskiy counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Crusher shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Sarnavskiy as he avoids it easily.
Crusher throws a lazy head kick
and Sarnavskiy counters with a flying knee. Nice.

Crusher shoots in and bounces Sarnavskiy off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Sarnavskiy wants to stand but Crusher is controlling the position.

Sarnavskiy has his feet on Crusher's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Crusher has a takedown stuffed.

Crusher clinches up with Sarnavskiy and pushes him back against the cage.

Crusher tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Crusher is defended easily by Sarnavskiy.
Crusher takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Sarnavskiy slips a jab from Crusher.
Horrible takedown by Crusher or perhaps it was just good defense by Sarnavskiy which made him look bad.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Sarnavskiy closes the distance and clinches.

Sarnavskiy gets caught napping as Crusher dives in and scores a takedown. Sarnavskiy manages to retain guard.
Crusher looking to sit in guard and control but Sarnavskiy gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Sarnavskiy stands and steps away. Crusher gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Crusher tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Sarnavskiy throws a head kick but Crusher moves out of range.

Crusher is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Sarnavskiy keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Sarnavskiy misses with a few strikes there.
Alexander Sarnavskiy is winning the standup battle so far.
Crusher showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Sarnavskiy.
Crusher tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Sarnavskiy makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Sarnavskiy rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Crusher moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Alexander Sarnavskiy is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Sarnavskiy stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Sarnavskiy wants it to stay on the feet.

Crusher gets the takedown into side control.

Crusher stands up and beckons Sarnavskiy to his feet.

and Crusher cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Ed Crusher seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Crusher takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Sarnavskiy throws a head kick that misses.
Sarnavskiy slaps away a takedown attempt from Crusher, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Crusher looks for a takedown but Sarnavskiy sprawls well.
Sarnavskiy looks to land a body kick but Crusher moved away.

and Sarnavskiy counters with an inside leg kick.
Crusher shoots in looking for a takedown. Sarnavskiy tries to sprawl out of it but Crusher keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Sarnavskiy manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Sarnavskiy lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Crusher shoots in but Sarnavskiy avoids the takedown attempt easily.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Alexander Sarnavskiy will probably get the nod.

Crusher drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Crusher is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Sarnavskiy to keep the fight standing.
