PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bartek Radziewicz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rene Perez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Radziewicz comes into the arena with Nie Zasługujesz blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Bartek Radziewicz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Rene Perez!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Paulsen Ambrosius and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some wild striking there from Radziewicz.

Perez changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Radziewicz looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Radziewicz is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Radziewicz is not content to let Perez control the position.
Perez is putting a hurting on Radziewicz here, landing some big shots from side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Radziewicz is looking for a sweep.

Perez wants to control but Radziewicz is keeping him busy.
Perez is staying tight to Radziewicz's torso, preventing him from escaping.

Perez takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Perez working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Perez accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Perez shoots in looking for a takedown but Radziewicz manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Perez's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Radziewicz misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Good exchange - Radziewicz coming out on top.
Good leg kick by Radziewicz there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Perez avoids the head kick by Radziewicz.
Radziewicz will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rene Perez dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Nice takedown defense from Radziewicz. No joy for Perez on that attempt.

Radziewicz throws a leg kick which misses Perez's front leg but catches the back leg as Perez tries to avoid it.
Perez takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Radziewicz scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Radziewicz misses with a jab, cross combination.
Radziewicz feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Perezs jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Perez drops his hands momentarily and Radziewicz takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Radziewicz jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Perez shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Radziewicz pinned against the cage. Radziewicz gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Bartek Radziewicz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rene Perez.
Perez with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Radziewicz to score with a decent uppercut.

Radziewicz is desperately trying to improve his position but Perez has a good base and remains in mount.
BOOM! Perez connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Perez lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Radziewicz wants to hold on but Perez pushes him away.
Perez scores with a couple of good head shots there.
The referee warns Radziewicz that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Radziewicz is bucking up trying to escape but Perez cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Perez misses with a head shot.

Perez takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Radziewicz is wriggling around trying to escape.

Rene Perez has got the better of the ground game so far.
Perez pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Perez shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Radziewicz's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Radziewicz duly obliges.
Bartek Radziewicz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Radziewicz.
Radziewicz sizes up Perez with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Radziewicz connects with a body shot that sends Perez's belly button to the back.
