Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, John YJ!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Aldred Lebeng!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Sosuke Kotani and Shirou Masuda.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
YJ darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Lebeng looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with YJ in particular looking to stall.
YJ is pressing down on Lebeng's thigh, looking to free his foot. Lebeng is holding on for now.
YJ is figuring out what he wants to do next.
YJ stands up from half guard.
Lebeng rushes YJ and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Lebeng wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
YJ drags the fight down to the ground.
YJ manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Lebeng manages to get himself to full guard.
YJ stays in close to Lebeng's body and controls the position.
YJ looking to pass the guard.
Lebeng working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because YJ has passed into half guard!
That's two minutes gone in the round.
YJ works his foot free and advances to mount.
YJ working away from the top, dropping strikes.
YJ working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Lebeng turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips YJ off and cradles Lebeng's limp body as YJ celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). John YJ!
