Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mike Hunt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Troy Slamen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hunt comes to the cage accompanied by The Breaks. Slamen comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Jaws Theme kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Mike Hunt could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Troy Slamen's chin.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Slamen shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Slamen was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Slamen is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Hunt can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Hunt slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Slamen drops an elbow to the side of Hunt's head.
Slamen wants to work for an arm triangle but Hunt is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Slamen is trying to control. Hunt wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Slamen wants to take a breather but Hunt is having none of it.
Slamen slows the pace down in half guard.
Slamen thows a huge punch but Hunt dodges it nicely.

Slamen is looking for a kimura but Hunt is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Slamen to get the leverage.
Slamen has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Slamen works his foot free and advances to mount.

Slamen has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Hunt's face.

Slamen with shots to the head and body - Hunt looks very uncomfortable down there.
Slamen tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Slamen can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Hunt is looking to escape.

Hunt might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Slamen lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Slamen breaks from Hunt's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Hunt is desperately trying to improve his position but Slamen has a good base and remains in mount.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Slamen lands a nice shot to the head.
Hunt is rocked!
Slamen postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Hunt badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Slamen around the waist but Slamen pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Slamen is the winner by TKO! Slamen jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Troy Slamen! Troy Slamen retains his lightweight title!
After winning the bout, Troy Slamen thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
