Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Ken Kimura!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 11 - 0, fighting out of London, Lito Balboa!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, James Ackerman and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Balboa throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Balboa misses with the body kick

and Kimura counters by moving into the clinch.

Kimura gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Kimura controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Kimura landing with the ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kimura stands and throws Balboa's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Kimura stands up.
Balboa throws a half hearted mid kick.
Balboa tries a head kick but it misses.
Balboa swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Kimura counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Kimura.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kimura postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Kimura controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Balboa has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kimura can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Kimura is pushing down on Balboa's leg trying to pass to half guard. Balboa is fighting to maintain full guard but Kimura has managed to sneak the leg through.
Balboa looks gassed!

Kimura is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Kimura decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Kimura shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Kimura showed some decent athleticism there.
Still in half guard, Kimura seems content to control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Balboa misses with a combination

and Kimura counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Kimura sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Balboa's guard.
Kimura takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Kimura controlling the action here.
Kimura seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Balboa for as long as he can get away with.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kimura is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Balboa!

Balboa is in a horrible position here. Kimura smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Kimura controlling his opponent.
Kimura lands a heavy shot. That's hurt Balboa! Kimura sees the opportunity and turns up the heat - strike after strike land to the defenseless Balboa and the ref dives in to save him! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Ken Kimura!
