Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Andres Sanchez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Darwin Drascoe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sanchez's entrance music is Bob Marley - Positive Vibration. A fine choice. The crowd seem to be enjoying Drascoe's choice of entrance music: Pull Me Back To Earth. Darwin Drascoe is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Andres Sanchez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Darwin Drascoe!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Thiago Cunha and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sanchez is looking to clinch.
Drascoe misses with a few strikes there.

Drascoe gets a clinch.
Sanchez misses with an elbow over the top.
Sanchez looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Sanchez throws an elbow but it misses.
Sanchez pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.

Drascoe breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
The fight stays on the outside here - Sanchez looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Drascoe swats away the attempt to clinch by Sanchez.
Sanchez throws a wild body kick that Drascoe sees coming a mile off.

Drascoe gets a double leg takedown into Sanchez's guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Drascoe slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Drascoe stands and steps away. Sanchez gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Sanchez tries to close the distance and clinch but Drascoe swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Drascoe closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Sanchez quickly recovers to half guard.
Drascoe is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Drascoe decides to stand up.
Sanchez looks for a takedown but Drascoe sprawls well.
Sanchez wants to clinch

and Drascoe counters with a single leg into guard. Sanchez didn't expect that.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Sanchez utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Darwin Drascoe hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
A slapping body kick lands there for Drascoe.

Sanchez tries to close the distance and clinch up but Drascoe swats him away and circles back towards the center.

and Drascoe decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Sanchez's guard.

Sanchez is working an open guard so Drascoe takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Drascoe shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sanchez takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Sanchez's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Sanchez is breathing heavily.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Sanchez might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Sanchez enables Drascoe to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Sanchez manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Sanchez has momentary wrist control but Drascoe slips an elbow through the middle.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Sanchez wants to stand but Drascoe is controlling the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Drascoe is trying to control. Sanchez wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Drascoe takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Drascoe works his way into side control.
Drascoe has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Drascoe works to advance to full mount. Sanchez defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Well Drascoe has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
