Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Jesse Taylor! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 14 - 0, fighting out of London, Martin Walter! The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Colin Fotheringham and William Gold.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A punch combination from Walter misses. Walter throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Walter takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Walter misses with a wild body shot. Walter digs a good hook to Taylor's body.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Walter, right into the meat.
Taylor misses with a jab, cross combination.
Taylor stalks Walter and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Walter's face. Walter staggers backwards, shaken.
It looks like Martin Walter has been cut. Taylor throws a right hand that Walter ducks under and follows up with a left that Walter also avoids with ease. Walter throws a jab when Taylor was well out of range. Taylor lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Taylor defending well as Walter loads up on a big left hand. Walter tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Taylor was well out of range. Poor timing from Walter. A head kick misses from Taylor. Walter takes one on the button.
That's one minute gone in the round. Walter with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Walter throws a hook to the side of Taylor's head but Taylor sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Walter blocks a jab. Walter throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Taylor uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Walter has time to react. Taylor rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Walter moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Taylor scores with a takedown into Walter's guard. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Walter wants to stand up but Taylor is controlling him. Taylor drops back looking for a leg! Walter is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Walter manages to kick Taylor off! Taylor jumps back into Walter's guard. Taylor makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Taylor drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Taylor jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Walter keeping full guard, as Taylor tries to pass. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Taylor is working hard here to advance position. Walter wants to stand and escape but Taylor is having none of it. Taylor wants to pass the guard but Walter is keeping the position.

Walter swivels though and keeps the full guard. Taylor trying to control the position from guard on top but Walter is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Walter is looking to stand up but Taylor isn't so interested in that idea. Walter is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Taylor dives into side control.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Taylor has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Taylor shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Walter is trying to defend but Taylor finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Taylor stops Walter from getting back to his feet.
Taylor wants to take a breather but Walter is having none of it. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Taylor wants to pass to mount but Walter is defending the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Taylor is trying to control the action in half guard but Walter is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Taylor shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Walter pinned against the cage. Walter gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Walter throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Taylor prevents Walter from escaping the position. Taylor in side control, just content to control the action for now. Taylor tries for a kimura but Walter is defending well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Walter throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done! Taylor drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Taylor advances nicely into full mount. Taylor wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it. Walter's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Taylor stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet. Taylor throws a jab but it's blocked by Walter. Taylor shoots in looking for a takedown. Walter tries to sprawl out of it but Taylor keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Walter manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Taylor misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Taylor looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Left hook, right uppercut from Walter. Jesse Taylor is winning the standup battle so far. Taylor shoots in for a double leg but Walter sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jesse Taylor. That's going to take a lot out of him. Taylor gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Walter. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Martin Walter is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Taylor lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Some wild striking there from Walter.

That's going to take a lot out of him. Taylor moves out of range of the body kick. Taylor thows a body shot but no joy. Walter throws a right and a left that Taylor avoids nicely. A head kick misses from Walter. Walter blocks a jab. Sloppy strikes from Walter. Those never looked like landing. Taylor throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Walter was covering up waiting for the punch and Taylor finishes the takedown easily into guard. Walter takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Walter wants to get back to his feet but Taylor is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Walter really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Taylor. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Walter keeping moving, preventing Taylor from controlling successfully. Taylor tries to free his leg and advance position but Walter is retaining full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Taylor lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Walter keeping moving, preventing Taylor from controlling successfully. Taylor won't allow Walter to get back to his feet. Walter wriggles free and stands up. A combination from Taylor does no damage. Taylor takes a head kick and keeps coming.

Walter lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Walter. Walter throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Walter falls off balance throwing a combination
and Taylor counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Walter's guard now. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Walter wants to stand and escape but Taylor is having none of it. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Taylor engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Martin Walter. I think Taylor has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
