Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jason Slater (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rico Garza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Garza has chosen Run This Town as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jason Slater! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rico Garza! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Slater lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
It looks like Rico Garza has been cut. Garza misses with a low kick.
Garza swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

and Slater connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Garza throws a series of punches but Slater moves out of range. Slater shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Slater stands up from guard. Let's bang! Garza misses with the combination.
Slater gets a double leg takedown into Garza's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Garza wants to stand and escape but Slater is having none of it. Slater slips nicely into half guard. Still in half guard, Slater seems content to control. Garza is staying active underneath Slater, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Slater trying to pass the guard but Garza defending well. Slater trying to control from half guard but Garza is working away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Slater slips a nice elbow through Garza's hands, connecting with Garza's forehead. Slater thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Garza tries to kick Slater off but Slater keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Garza manages to escape and get back to his feet! Slater checks the leg kick nicely there.
Garza throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Slater. Garza throws a leg kick but Slater sees it coming and moves out of range. Slater has managed to clinch.
Garza is trying to break the clinch but Slater has him pressed against the cage. Garza manages to break the clinch.
Garza gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Garza wants to get back to his feet but Slater passes into half guard.
Garza looks gassed! Slater winds up and cracks Garza with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Slater takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Slater is controlling the pace.
Garza pushes Slater off and gets back to his feet. Slater looking to score a takedown here. Garza is defending well but Slater drives through and ends up in Garza's guard. Slater landing some decent shots from guard. Slater won't allow Garza to get back to his feet. Slater looking to pass the guard. Garza is looking to stand up but Slater isn't so interested in that idea. Slater wants to pass the guard but Garza is keeping the position. Garza wants to get back to his feet but Slater passes into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Slater is trying to control the action in half guard but Garza is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Garza is looking to escape. Slater wants to free his trapped foot but Garza is holding on for dear life with his legs. Slater wants to lay and pray for a moment but Garza keeps working. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Slater is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Garza is refusing to be controlled, as Slater sits in half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Garza makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! Slater closes the distance and clinches. Slater is trying to trip Garza. He has hold of a leg but Garza is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Slater persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Garza wants to stand up but Slater is controlling him. Garza keeping moving, preventing Slater from controlling successfully. Garza wants to get back to his feet but Slater is in a dominant position and won't allow it. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Slater slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Slater stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Garza swivels though and keeps the full guard. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Jason Slater has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Garza throws a solid leg kick but Slater takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Garza. Garza tries a low kick but Slater avoids it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jason Slater dominated that round. The cut man is working on Rico Garza's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Garza scoring well with a low kick there.
Slater bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Garza is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Slater has just dragged him back down to the mat. Slater stands up and beckons Garza to his feet. Slater checks a leg kick. Garza tries to bum rush Slater with a series of wild strikes but Slater uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Slater shoots in and bounces Garza off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Garza has momentary wrist control but Slater slips an elbow through the middle. Garza is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Slater is controlling him. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Garza keeping moving, preventing Slater from controlling successfully. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Slater gets to his feet - Garza follows without any prompting.
That's one minute gone in the round. Slater takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Garza throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Garza misses with a few strikes there.
Sloppy strikes from Garza. Those never looked like landing. Garza misses with a wild combination.
Garza tries to sprawl but Slater drives through with a takedown into half guard. Slater is trying for a kimura here. Garza looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Slater wins by kimura!
