Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Victor Viriato!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Daniel Cesar and Mauricio Rocha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Viriato tries to clinch but Kingston moves away

and Kingston decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Viriato's guard.
Viriato looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Kingston drops back looking for a leg! Viriato is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Viriato manages to kick Kingston off! Kingston jumps back into Viriato's guard.
Kingston showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Kingston landing some decent shots from guard.
Kingston postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Viriato wants to stand up but Kingston is controlling him.
Kingston is pushing down on Viriato's leg trying to pass to half guard. Viriato is fighting to maintain full guard but Kingston has managed to sneak the leg through.
Kingston slips a nice elbow through Viriato's hands, connecting with Viriato's forehead.

Kingston stands up out of the half guard.

Kingston instigates a clinch.
Kingston is looking to control Viriato's arms but Viriato gets an underhook and turns him. Now Kingston has his back to the cage.
Viriato jumps guard but Kingston stands there with Viriato around his waist. Viriato gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Kingston stalls.
Kingston has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Viriato avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Viriato is looking to take this one to the mat.

Kingston decides to pull guard.
Kingston looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Kingston wants to sweep here but Viriato controlling him for the moment.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Kingston is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Kingston is on top in guard.
Kingston might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Kingston is pushing down on Viriato's leg trying to pass to half guard. Viriato is fighting to maintain full guard but Kingston has managed to sneak the leg through.

Kingston decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Sloppy strikes from Kingston. Those never looked like landing.

Kingston closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Viriato to the mat! Viriato manages to get full guard.
Kingston content to stall in guard here.

Kingston gets to his feet - Viriato follows without any prompting.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Kingston throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Viriato tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Kingston is in Viriato's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kingston trying to control but Viriato is working from the bottom.

Kingston stands and steps away. Viriato gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Kingston tries for a takedown but Viriato sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Viriato darts in trying to clinch
and Kingston counters with a stiff right hand.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kingston fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for David Kingston. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Kingston feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

David Kingston dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Kingston closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Viriato to the mat! Viriato manages to get full guard.

Viriato is working an open guard so Kingston takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Kingston jumps guard but Viriato stands there with Kingston around his waist. Kingston gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Kingston has had enough of the clinch but Viriato keeps him there for the moment.
Viriato is breathing heavily.
Kingston is trying to pull guard but Viriato turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Kingston is pressed up against the cage. Viriato has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Kingston down to the mat. Kingston avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Kingston works over Viriato's head and body with a nice combination.


Viriato is rocked!

Kingston takes the fight into the clinch.
Viriato is still on wobbly legs! Can Kingston finish him?
Kingston tries to break free but Viriato pushes him back against the cage.
Kingston is looking to break free of the clinch but Viriato has double underhooks.

Kingston pulls guard effortlessly.
Viriato seems to have recovered his senses.

Kingston looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Kingston has his hands on Viriato's head, controlling the position.

Kingston is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Kingston has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Viriato should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Kingston has tightened it up now! Viriato should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
