Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Reyes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jim Butcher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Butcher has chosen I Put a Spell On You as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jim Butcher! The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Roger Salmon and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Reyes dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Reyes clinches with his opponent.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Reyes. The referee is keeping an eye on Reyes - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Butcher changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Reyes fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Reyes works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Butcher has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Reyes. The fight moves into the clinch position. Butcher manages to pull guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Reyes wants to get up but he can't break Butcher's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Reyes avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Butcher escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Reyes gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Reyes won't allow Butcher to sweep him here. Butcher trying to get back to full guard but Reyes takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount! Reyes raining down hammerfists from mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Reyes has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Reyes unloading with bombs! Reyes will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Reyes lands a big elbow. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Reyes looking to control but Butcher is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Butcher keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Butcher is rocked! Butcher takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Butcher is still in real trouble! Can Reyes finish him? Reyes lands with some strikes. Reyes controlling his opponent. Reyes postures up and throws a massive shot that knocks Butcher out cold! Two more strikes to his unconscious opponent for good luck and this one is all over! Reyes goes absolutely crazy with his corner! Wow, you can see how much that win means to him!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Daniel Reyes! Daniel Reyes retains his lightweight title! Daniel Reyes really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Milwaukee's Best 160 logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
