The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dervius throws an off balance right hand
and Thompson counters with a straight right hand.
Dervius throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Dervius throws a hook to the side of Thompson's head but Thompson sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Dervius uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Thompson.
Thompson waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Dervius.
Dervius throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Dervius scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Dervius wants to control but Thompson is keeping him busy.
Dervius working over Thompson with some ground and pound. Thompson looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Dervius takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Thompson has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Dervius. Oh but Thompson has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Dervius goes limp - he's gone! Thompson jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
