Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Matthew Harrison! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bruce Parker! The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, John Roberts and Anthony Taglia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Parker throws a leg kick but Harrison moved away. Matthew Harrison seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Parker closes the distance and clinches up with Harrison, looking for a takedown. Parker pushes Harrison against the cage but Harrison circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Parker shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Harrison as he jumps to the side. Harrison slips a jab from Parker. Parker ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Harrison throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Parker sees it coming and avoids it easily. Parker doesn't succeed with the takedown and Harrison counters with an outside leg kick.
Matthew Harrison has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bruce Parker. Parker throws a leg kick that misses. Parker wants to clinch up but Harrison keeps it at a distance.
That's one minute gone in the round. Parker throws a leg kick but Harrison sees it coming and checks it nicely. Harrison lands an overhand right. Harrison circles away from the clinch attempt.
Harrison lands a big head kick that sends Parker tumbling to the mat! Harrison takes a step backwards and waves Parker back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Parker is rocked!
It looks like Bruce Parker has been cut. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Harrison tries a head kick but it misses.
Parker is still on wobbly legs! Can Harrison finish him? Harrison jabbing away but nothing is landing. Harrison cracks Parker on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Parker falls backwards against the cage. Harrison follows up with more strikes that drop Parker to his knees. Harrison keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Parker! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Matthew Harrison! Our winner, Matthew Harrison, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
