Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nate Alamar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shane Evans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Evans has chosen “Shook Ones Pt. II” by Mobb Deep as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nate Alamar! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Shane Evans! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Elvis Blanc and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Alamar circles away from the clinch attempt and Alamar counters with a nice double leg into side control. Evans won't be happy with that. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. The ground and pound from Alamar seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Evans can do anything to dispel that myth. Alamar sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Evans is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Evans seems a little lost for a moment, as Alamar dominates the positioning.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Nate Alamar. The fight moves into the clinch position.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Alamar controlling the action here. Alamar passes the guard and advances to mount! Alamar content just to control the position here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Alamar lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

Nate Alamar overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Alamar sitting in guard, not really doing much.

Evans tries to close the distance and clinch but Alamar swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Evans is looking to clinch. Evans looks to land a combination but Alamar avoids it well. Alamar misses with a series of wild punches.
Evans tries to clinch and Alamar counters with a single leg into guard. Evans didn't expect that. Alamar slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Evans working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Alamar. Nate Alamar is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Nate Alamar has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Evans looks to clinch and Alamar counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Evans! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Alamar controlling from the full mount. Alamar seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Evans for as long as he can get away with.
And that's the end of the fight! Nate Alamar showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Alamar, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
