Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ricky Dray (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Keaton Mendonca (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dray's entrance music is Champion. A fine choice. Mendonca comes into a darkened arena with his song building. DOWN WITH THE SICKNESS - DISTURBED kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ricky Dray! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Keaton Mendonca! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Tiny Johnson and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mendonca shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Dray but Dray pushes him off and we're back to square one. Dray could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Dray changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Mendonca tries to avoid it but Dray manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Mendonca to the ground. Mendonca escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Dray fails with the takedown and Mendonca counters by moving into the clinch. Dray breaks the clinch.
Mendonca fails with a takedown attempt from distance. The fight moves into the clinch position. Mendonca gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Mendonca controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Mendonca wants to pass the guard but Dray is keeping the position. Mendonca wants to stand and escape but instead Dray has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dray tries to stand but Mendonca is controlling from the bottom.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Keaton Mendonca was stalling too much, according to the referee. Mendonca moves in looking to clinch but Dray pushes him off. Mendonca shoots in and drives through. Dray sprawls well. Ricky Dray has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Keaton Mendonca. Dray shoots for a takedown but Mendonca saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. The fight stays on the outside here - Mendonca looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mendonca moves in looking to clinch but Dray pushes him off. Dray shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Mendonca as he jumps to the side. Dray looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Mendonca dives in and scores a takedown into Dray's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mendonca looks gassed! Dray looking for a guillotine here but Mendonca defends easily.
Mendonca is looking to stand up but Dray won't let him.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mendonca wants to pass the guard but Dray is keeping the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mendonca wants to stand and escape but instead Dray has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Dray drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Dray jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dray won't allow Mendonca to get back to his feet. Dray won't allow Mendonca to sweep him here. Dray wants to pass the guard but Mendonca is keeping the position. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Dray is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Keaton Mendonca dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Dray tries to score a power double leg takedown but Mendonca sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Dray somewhat. Dray tries for a takedown but Mendonca sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Mendonca scores a takedown into full mount! Mendonca tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dray bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Mendonca not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Keaton Mendonca wasn't active enough on the ground. Mendonca tries to clinch but Dray is having none of it. Dray displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Mendonca. Mendonca is breathing heavily. Mendonca changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Dray tries to avoid it but Mendonca manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Dray to the ground. Dray escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Ricky Dray is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mendonca wants to clinch. Dray gets caught flat footed, as Mendonca shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Dray throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Dray is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mendonca wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Dray's closed guard. He's half up but Dray has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Dray pivots and extends the arm, Mendonca falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Dray! Well done that man!
