Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jiga Ji!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Byakuya Kuchiki!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Aafke Stam and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kuchiki gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Ji has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Kuchiki lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Ji backwards.

Ji gets control of Kuchiki's arms and successfully pulls guard. Ji will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Kuchiki with a nice head shot there.
Kuchiki wants to pass the guard but Ji is keeping the position.

Ji has his foot on Kuchiki's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Kuchiki works his way back into a safe position though.

Ji looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Ji looking for a guillotine here but Kuchiki defends easily.
Kuchiki must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Kuchiki is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Kuchiki postures up in Ji's guard and throws a big left but Ji blocks it.
Ji is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Ji is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Kuchiki lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kuchiki drops back looking for a leg! Ji is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Ji manages to kick Kuchiki off! Kuchiki jumps back into Ji's guard.
Kuchiki postures up and lands a big shot to Ji's brow.
Ji is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Kuchiki is trying to maintain the position but Ji is very close to passing his half guard.
The fighters are battling for position here. Kuchiki manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Ji loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Kuchiki wants to sweep here but Ji controlling him for the moment.

Ji drops back looking for a leg! Kuchiki is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Kuchiki manages to kick Ji off! Ji jumps back into Kuchiki's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kuchiki utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Ji has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Kuchiki holds on and takes a little breather.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Ji drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Ji jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Kuchiki has his hands on Ji's head, controlling the position.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Byakuya Kuchiki hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Ji fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kuchiki manages to avoid it.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Ji enables Kuchiki to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Ji manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Ji wants to sweep but no luck.
Kuchiki scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Kuchiki avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Kuchiki trying to control the position from guard on top but Ji is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Kuchiki drops back looking for a leg! Ji is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Ji manages to kick Kuchiki off! Kuchiki jumps back into Ji's guard.

Ji looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Kuchiki has picked Ji up and slammed him! Ji can't keep hold of the triangle and Kuchiki manages to pass to side control!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Byakuya Kuchiki dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Kuchiki lands a leg kick that knocks Ji off balance momentarily.
Ji takes a head kick and keeps coming.


It looks like Jiga Ji has been cut.
Ji's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Kuchiki connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Ji scrambles back to his feet.
Whack! Kuchiki lands a heavy head kick that drops Ji. The ref tackles Kuchiki to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Ji was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:20 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Byakuya Kuchiki!
A very excited looking Byakuya Kuchiki made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
