PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brisbane Martin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jackson has chosen Roy Jones - Can't be touched as his entrance music. Martin has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fighters circling - Martin throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Jackson shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Martin sprawls well. Martin wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Jackson gets slowly back to his feet.
Jackson swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Jackson throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Martin.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jackson can do anything to dispel that myth.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Martin connects with a nice short shot to Jackson's temple.

Martin throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Jackson's waist but Jackson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Martin off to one side.

Martin closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Martin stands up over Jackson, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

That was a close second round but I would say that Brisbane Martin will probably get the nod.

Well Martin has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
