Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jorge Rivera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jared White (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jared White acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jorge Rivera! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jared White! The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Leandro Rodrigues and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rivera keeps the fight on the outside. White tries to clinch but Rivera is having none of it. White moves into the clinch. Rivera tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. White smiles and moves away.
White wants to clinch and Rivera counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Rivera sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. White defending well though. White is trying to stand up here but Rivera is controlling him well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Rivera in particular looking to stall. Rivera is thwarting White's attempts to control the position. White wants to get back to full guard. Rivera is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and White defends it well. Rivera is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Rivera advances position into side control! White is trying to buck Rivera off. White defending against the ground and pound. White tries to improve position but can't. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. White can't do much from the bottom here. White is looking for a sweep. Rivera advances to mount. White is working to get back to half guard.
Rivera breaks from White's wrist control and lands an elbow. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Rivera looking to control and managing it successfully. Rivera really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Rivera has hold of White's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and White manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
That's three minutes gone in the round. White tries to hold on but Rivera pushes him away. White is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

Rivera is going oldschool here, as he tries to force White to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so White shrugs it off. White manages to control the position for a moment. Rivera landing punches.

Rivera scoring with strikes but White is staying in there. White is looking to get to half guard. White is bucking up trying to escape but Rivera cracks him with another couple of good strikes. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Rivera trying to control but he's not successful this time. White really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

Jorge Rivera dominated that round. That's time! Rivera's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Rivera looking for a takedown here - he's got it. It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Rivera here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man. White has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Rivera trying to control the position from guard on top but White is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. White preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. White bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Rivera's guard. White loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. White missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Rivera trying to control the position here. Jorge Rivera overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. White slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rivera struggling a bit here. White wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rivera keeps working. White stands up and beckons Rivera to his feet. Rivera fails with the takedown and White makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. White tries to clinch up. White fails with an attempt to clinch.
White tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Rivera paws at him with a jab and circles away. White moves to clinch but Rivera breaks away so Rivera counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rivera is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Rivera slips nicely into half guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! White is trying to get back to full guard. White looking for submissions off his back. Rivera is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Rivera in particular looking to stall.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rivera thows a huge punch but White dodges it nicely.

You can see the frustration on White's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Rivera trying to control the position but White is working away.

White is working to avoid the ground and pound but Rivera connects with a decent elbow. Rivera trying to control the action but White is working from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. White tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Rivera wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Rivera thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Jorge Rivera is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. White tries to improve position but can't. Rivera tries to move into full mount but can't pass White's legs. White can't do much from the bottom here. The strikes coming from Rivera are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

White takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Rivera is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, White has managed to free his arm - good work. Rivera controlling the action here. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
And that's the end of the fight! Jorge Rivera showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Rivera, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
