Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Granger Holmess (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Spyde Radic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Granger Holmess could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Spyde Radic's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Granger Holmess! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
15 - 12 - 1, fighting out of New York, Spyde Radic! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Tiny Johnson and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Radic misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Radic feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Radic stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Holmess swivels though and keeps the full guard. Radic drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Radic jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Holmess utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Radic works a leg free and moves into half guard. Radic stands up out of the half guard. Holmess tries to bum rush Radic with a series of wild strikes but Radic uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Holmess doesn't manage to clinch there - Radic circles away.
Radic throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Holmess tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Radic is in Holmess's guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Radic throwing strikes but missing. Radic throwing strikes but missing. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Radic throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Holmess works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Radic wants to control from the top but Holmess keeps moving. Radic postures up.
Radic has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Holmess looking to hit a scissor sweep but Radic is one step ahead there. Radic wants to control from the top but Holmess keeps moving. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Radic decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Spyde Radic seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Holmess gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Radic preventing the sweep. Radic loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Radic trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Holmess knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Radic on the ground. Radic decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Radic fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Radic closes the distance and clinches up with Holmess, looking for a takedown. Radic pushes Holmess against the cage but Holmess circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Holmess fails to land with a series of punches.
Nice body kick from Holmess. Holmess throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Radic. Holmess tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Radic paws at him with a jab and circles away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Radic closes the distance and clinches. Radic ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Radic no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Radic pushes Holmess off and gets back to his feet.
Holmess doesn't manage to clinch there - Radic circles away.
Radic scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Holmess wants to control but Radic postures up. Radic thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Holmess is looking to regain half guard here but Radic keeps moving and retains side control. You can see the frustration on Holmess's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Radic has hold of Holmess's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Holmess tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Radic cranks the arm and Holmess screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Holmess, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Spyde Radic!
