The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A cross from Diaz lands.
Diaz throws a lazy right hand but Bitag sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Diaz cracks Bitag with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Diaz throws out a powerful jab.
Bitag slips under a jab.

Bitag on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Bitag closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Bitag throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Bitag seems to be looking for submissions.
Diaz really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

A helpless look comes across Diaz 's face. He knows he's trapped as Bitag lands a series of unanswered strikes. The ref steps in to stop the fight and this one is in the books!

Ben Bitag was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
